Louise, Bronte advance to Class 1A finals

Amber Bain slammed 26 kills to lead Louise past Normangee in UIL Class 1A state volleyball semifinal playoff action.
The score was 25-12, 23-25, 25-18, 25-21,
Katie Brown added 17 kills for Louise (40-10), who will meet Bronte (40-5) in the Saturday finals.
Louise setters Kirsten Machicek and Kaleigh Kutac had 22 assists each in the victory.
Hilaree Hodges had 11 kills for Normangee (31-11).
Bronte beat Lindsay (35-11) as Chelsea Cook had 15 kills and seven service aces and Kaycee Baker added 13 kills. The score was 25-11, 25-22, 22-25, 25-13.
Kaylee Murphree had 13 kills and Kristin Martin ten kills for Lindsay. Brenna Mlinar had 24 assists for Lindsay.
Bronte is making its thirteenth state appearance with five state titles, most recently in 1991. Louise is making its second appearance, finishing second in 1970.
