Grand Prairie man dies in early-morning collision

A 67-year-old Grand Prairie man was killed early Friday when his vehicle was struck in north Grand Prairie.
Rondey Wilson Vater was turning onto Trinity Boulevard from River Ridge Boulevard about 6 a.m. when his 2005 Chrysler Sebring was struck by an eastbound 2004 Dodge pickup, police said.
Vater’s car was pushed into the center median, and he was declared dead at the scene.
The driver of the pickup was not injured. Police are continuing to investigate the collision.
