Some in University Park left without natural gas Sunday 12:41 PM CT
12:43 PM CST on Monday, February 8, 2010
Residents in a six-block area of University Park were without natural gas for much of Sunday, said a spokesman for Atmos Energy.
Except for a few customers who couldn't be reached, such as people out of town, all have had their gas service restored, said Ray Granado of Atmos.
Checking homes and re-lighting pilot lights is "a house-by-house process, so it took a while,” he said.
Excessive moisture in gas lines was believed to have caused the outage.
The area affected was between Preston Road and Hillcrest Avenue, just south of Northwest Highway.
