A pedestrian died after he was hit by a car Wednesday night on Harry Hines Boulevard.

John Zachery, 49, fell while attempting to cross the street just before 8 p.m. Wednesday in the 5300 block of Harry Hines, when a 2006 Kia Spectra hit him. He was transported to Parkland Hospital, where he was pronounced dead from blunt force trauma.

“No charges are expected to be filed,” Dallas police Senior Cpl. Kevin Janse said, “although a grand jury referral will be made.”
