An elderly woman was struck and severely injured by a hit-and-run driver late this evening in Far North Dallas, Dallas police said.

The 9 p.m. crash occurred in the 14000 block of Maham Road, near Spring Valley Road.

Police said the driver fled, but a witness took down the vehicle’s tag number. Officers soon found the owner, who told them the car must have been stolen.

Investigators had people of interest in the case but had made no arrests by late Saturday, police said.
