11:48 AM CST on Friday, November 20, 2009
A man suspected of breaking into Edward Titche Elementary School was arrested last night after a DISD police officer shot and missed him.
DISD police encountered a man inside the school at 9560 Highfield Drive who was reportedly stealing technology equipment such as projectors.
“The suspect made sort of a threatening move toward the officer,” DISD police spokesman Jon Dahlander said.
The officer fired at the suspect but missed him.
The suspect, who police believe acted alone, was taken into custody.
It is not known at this time whether he was armed.
