12:00 AM CST on Friday, November 6, 2009
It had been his home since he was a child. But now the victim of a fire is left with only rubble.
Early Wednesday morning, Dallas firefighters were called to the small one-story home in the 7900 block of Silverdale Drive near Wheatland Road and Polk Street in the Red Bird area.
The owner, whose name was not available, was away from the home when the one-alarm fire broke out.
He arrived a short time later after neighbors called.
The man had lived in the house for more than 40 years.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
