18, dead in closet
HOUSTON – A suburban Houston man returned home from work Friday and found his 18-year-old daughter dead in her closet.
The Harris County Sheriff's Department identified the dead woman as Trang Van.
Her body was found just before 9 p.m. Thursday in the family home in the Cypress-Fairbanks neighborhood of northwestern Harris County.
The woman apparently was shot to death, KTRK-TV in Houston reported.
It quoted family members as saying the last time anyone is known to have spoken with the recent high school graduate was when her sister called her about 12:30 p.m.
After that, investigators say, the sister was unable to reach her.
No arrests have been reported.
in elderly twins' deaths
SAN ANTONIO – Police believe heat may have played a role in the deaths of 82-year-old identical twin sisters in San Antonio.
The bodies of the women were found in their home Thursday morning. Authorities said no one had heard from the women since June 26.
A neighbor called police after noticing a foul odor.
The single window air conditioner in the home was off, officers said.
Neighbors told the San Antonio Express-News that the women lived on a fixed income and weren't likely to spend money on cooling the home.
