honor CNN 'hero'

L.D. Bell High School will honor Brad Blauser at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the school, 1601 Brown Trail. A graduate of L.D. Bell, Blauser is one of the Top 10 CNN Heroes, a program that spotlights people's extraordinary deeds. Blauser lives in Baghdad, where he distributes wheelchairs to children in need.

The Lewisville High School Farmers Harvest newspaper staff recently received five national Gold Circle awards from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association. The awards are the top individual student journalism awards in the nation. The high school also had four students qualify for the UIL All-State journalism staff.

tribute to professor

The University of North Texas will hold a concert, "A Cappella Choir: A Tribute to Frank McKinley," at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Winspear Performance Hall in the Murchison Performing Arts Center in Denton.
