05:24 PM CDT on Saturday, May 3, 2008
DALLAS — Dallas police are investigating the death of a nine-year-old girl who was taken to a local hospital Friday night.
The girl, who was not immediately identified, was unresponsive when emergency workers arrived at her home in the 6100 block of Singing Hills Drive, Senior Cpl. Janice Crowther said. Officers were called to Methodist Charlton Medical Center about 9 p.m. after the girl arrived at the hospital.
Police said the girl had no sign of blunt force injuries. The girl's mother told doctors that her daughter was asthmatic and had diabetes, Cpl. Crowther said.
The case is being investigated as an unexplained death. The Dallas County medical examiner's office will determine the cause of death.
