ARLINGTON — Four of the 15 million-dollar founding sponsors of the Super Bowl XLV Host Committee were named today at a news conference at the new Cowboys stadium at which organizers said that the 2011 game promises to be the biggest and best Super Bowl ever.

The founding sponsors are the Dallas Convention and Visitors Bureau, Ted and Shannon Skokos, The Staubach Co. and Hillwood Development. The founding sponsors will help raise at least half of the $30 million needed to host the first Super Bowl in North Texas.

The members of the North Texas Super Bowl XLV Host Committee also were named.

Roger Staubach, former Dallas Cowboy and NFL Hall of Fame quarterback who successfully led North Texas' bid to host the Super Bowl, will serve as chairman. Bill Lively, president and CEO of the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts, will be the committee's resident. Troy Aikman, former Dallas Cowboy quarterback and member of the NFL Hall of Fame, will chair the Legends Action Team. Ross Perot Jr., chairman of Perot Systems, will chair the Founding Sponsorship Action Team.

"Over the last year we have worked diligently to begin appointing the North Texas Super Bowl XLV Host Committee to include distinguished business, civic, cultural and education leaders from throughout the region," Mr. Staubach said. "Our goal is to help plan Super Bowl XLV to have the greatest economic, entertainment and cultural impact of any Super Bowl in history."

Philip Johnson, chief executive officer of the Dallas Convention and Visitors Bureau, said the $1 million spent by the bureau could pay for itself many times over. The founding sponsors will be incorporated into a logo and receive a luxury box, game tickets and admissions to official events, and Mr. Johnson said the bureau will use its tickets and luxury box to entertain meeting and convention planners to persuade them to bring major conventions and events to the city.

At the news conference, officials also outlined the host committee's mission, key goals for 2008 and plans to launch a minimum of 10 volunteer action teams to handle community outreach, special events, communications, hospitality, financial management and other issues. The logo for the game also was unveiled.
