DALLAS — A man tried to break into a Dallas house the hard way Friday morning.

Someone called 911 at 8:30 a.m. when they saw the would-be burglar stuck in the chimney of a vacant, one-story house in the 5000 block of Capitol Avenue.

After assessing the situation, Dallas Fire-Rescue personnel elected to disassemble the chimney — brick-by-brick — to free the man.

The suspect was placed on a gurney, then eased down a ladder, where an ambulance took him to Baylor University Medical Center for examination.

The unidentified man was not seriously hurt. There was no information available regarding possible criminal charges.
