UNIVERSITY PARK — A police pursuit along the Dallas North Tollway ended in University Park Sunday morning when the fleeing suspect was shot.

Initial reports indicate that Dallas officers were chasing a person driving a red Mutang convertable. The driver exited at Lovers Lane shortly after 7 a.m., then fled on foot near Armstrong Parkway and Hyer Street, two blocks east of the Tollway.

Shortly thereafter, an officer opened fire and the suspect — who was reported to have been armed — was injured. on the tollway.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting and the condition of the suspect were not immediately available.
