ATM theft fails in Oak Cliff
09:04 AM CDT on Monday, May 12, 2008
DALLAS — Dallas police were investigating another attempt to steal an ATM machine Monday morning.
The attempted theft of the cash machine was reported around 3:20 a.m. at a Prosperity Bank in the 2400 block of South Westmoreland Road.
The thieves tried to drag the rather large automatic teller device, but didn't get far with it, police said.
Monday's incident was the latest in a growing string of ATM thefts and attempted thefts in Dallas. In one successful theft last week, the thieves were able to place a cash machine in the back seat of a car.
