Man shot dead on Loop 12 service road

DALLAS — Police are investigating a fatal shooting on Loop 12 in West Dallas early Friday.
A police spokesman said the incident happened before 6 a.m. on the northbound service road between Interstate 30 and Singleton Boulevard. The victim was found inside the cab of a white pickup truck.
The service road was closed for more than two-and-a-half hours as detectives looked for evidence around the truck that was stopped in the middle of the street.
Police were also reviewing surveillance footage from a nearby gas station for any clues.
The name of the shooting victim was not available.
Senior Corporal Kevin Janse said detectives have not identified any witnesses or leads in the case.
