Garland teacher jailed for sex with student

GARLAND — A North Garland High School teacher was jailed Friday and charged with having an improper relationship with a student.
Garland police said Yolanda Horace-Crockett, 41, has been involved in a sexual relationship with a male student who is under 17 years old.
The offense is a second-degree felony. If convicted, Horace-Crockett faces a punishment of up to 20 years in prison and a fine of $10,000. Bond for Horace-Crockett was set at $25,000.
According to the school's Web site, she has worked at North Garland High since 2001 and is certified to teach health, sociology and language arts.
