DISD board member Ron Price stepping down for "family reasons"

DALLAS - DISD school board member Ron Price has told News 8 he will not be standing for re-election.
He is expected to announce his decision at a news conference at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the DISD headquarters.
Price is the third longest serving school board member in DISD history, serving for 12 years.
Price says he is resigning for "family reasons."
He has been an outspoken critic in scandals that have rocked the district.
He says he is proud of several things he has achieved while representing District 9, including boosting test scores in his district and raising starting teachers' salaries.
