Fresh paint for faded lane markers on LBJ Freeway
10:44 PM CDT on Saturday, October 31, 2009
DALLAS — Work crews spent part of the day Saturday painting new lane lines on LBJ Freeway.
For months, drivers have complained that the stripes that segregate one lane from the next have faded — or, in some areas, have been completely obliterated — making it hard to know where to steer a car.
Our recent wet weather made the situation even more dangerous, while simultaneously delaying efforts to get paint crews on the pavement.
"We're doing everything we can to address the situation right now in getting these stripes done," said Texas Department of Transportation spokeswoman Cynthia Northrop.
TxDOT hopes to finish painting new lines on LBJ lanes by November 19.
