6 a.m. Everyone is sleeping. Granny sleeps on the couch so she can hear the boys. The television is turned to The Waltons.

6:15 Lexi wakes up and cries, waking Amanda.

6:30 Amanda makes coffee, noting "It's too early for coffee." She feeds Lexi apple baby food. Amanda's grandfather Don leaves for work.

7 a.m. Ryan wakes up. He likes to amuse himself by blowing spit bubbles. Lexi crawls around the living room.

7:15 Abby, whose favorite pastime is screaming for no reason wakes up.

7:20 Amanda changes Abby's diaper.

7:25 Ryan explores the hallway. Amanda changes Lexi's diaper.

7:28 Amanda changes Ryan's diaper. Lexi bangs on a toy piano.

7:30 Zach wakes up.

7:32 Zach plays patty cake with Granny.

7:40 Amanda changes Abby's clothes from a pink Onesie to a purple sundress.

7:42 Amanda changes Zach's diaper and puts on clean clothes, a red and blue baseball outfit.

7:45 Ryan cries and pulls on Granny because she's holding Lexi.

7:50 Amanda calls her mother in Denver.

7:55 All babies but Abby pull up on the couch as Amanda feeds them baby apples from a jar.

8 a.m. Mr. Ed, Jay Jay the Jet Plane and music videos on BET. Amanda feeds the babies baby bananas.

8:10 Ryan falls asleep in Amanda's arms. She puts him to bed. The rest of the babies sit on the floor and eat baby snacks. They were on a child plate, but they dumped them on the carpet.

8:13 Zach crawls over Abby to get to the stars.

8:14 Lexi and Abby pull up on couch. Lexi grabs Abby's arm and squeezes. Amanda tells her no. Lexi squeezes again. Abby cries.

8:21 Amanda tries to get Lexi to sleep.

8:26 Granny leaves for Braum's to get Amanda breakfast after Amanda pleads for nearly an hour.

8:30 Lexi falls asleep in Amanda's arms. She puts her to bed. Zach taking a bottle.

8:32 Abby babbles "Da, da, da, da." Amanda mutters "You're daddy don't like you anymore."

8:50 Granny returns with a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit with gravy for Amanda.

9 a.m. Amanda eats her food, giving small pieces to Lexi.

9:15 Lexi is awake. Granny brings her into the living room and holds her.

9:22 Ryan cries from his crib but then stops. Amanda announces, "I'd give anything to sleep" and lays her head in Granny's lap.

9:26 Amanda looks for television remote, and Abby pulls her hair.

9:28 Lexi tries to take a piece of paper away from Zach. Paper is their favorite toy.

9:30 Amanda changes Abby's diaper.

9:34 All four are babies crying.

9:35 Abby drinks bottle.

9:43 Ryan is awake. Granny changes his diaper.

9:45 Ryan lays on floor, drinking a bottle.

9:46 Amanda gives Lexi a bottle. Granny changes Zach's diaper.

9:45 Abby falls asleep.

9:49 Granny feeds Zach a bottle.

9:56 Ryan plays with paper on the floor.

10 a.m. Ryan and Lexi play on the floor. Zach is sleeping. Animal Planet is on television.

10:20 Granny tries to rest in the bedroom.

10:25 Ryan lays on the couch with Amanda.

10:30 Ryan plays on the floor.

10:35 Lexi pulls up on couch and babbles at Amanda, who is laying down.

10:54 Ryan is asleep.

11 a.m. Abby is asleep. All My Children is on TV.

11:21 Lexi and Amanda go to other bedroom to lie down. They return minutes later.

11:35 Ryan wakes up. All the babies are sitting in high chairs eating vanilla wafers.

Noon Amanda heads for a quick shower as she announces: "I'm getting to old for all this."

12:15 Bathtime. Granny washes. Amanda dries, diapers and clothes them. The babies play on the floor. Ryan likes to look out the window.

12:36 Amanda heats two frozen potpies for her lunch.

12:38 Amanda makes four bottles.

1 p.m Granny feeds Abby.

1:10 Granny hands Abby to Amanda, who rocks her daughter to sleep.

1:15 Zach plays on the floor.

1:17 Granny plays Solitaire on the computer, which is stacked on boxes of diapers.

1:25 Lexi dozes in the swing after finishing her bottle. Amanda puts her to bed.

1:27 Amanda puts Ryan in the swing. She snags a few bites of her lunch.

1:38 Amanda gets Ryan out of swing.

1:40 Amanda rocks Ryan to sleep after giving him bites of her potpie.

2 p.m. Ryan is still awake and is passed back and forth between Granny and Amanda. Granny is on the phone as she holds babies. Zach wants to play with the phone book.

2:05 Abby falls asleep in swing. Granny leaves for grocery store.

2:19 Amanda feeds Zach bottle, and he falls asleep.

2:22 Ryan screams as he plays and wakes Zach up. Amanda brushes her hair and begins cleaning up dishes.

2:42 Amanda eats chocolate ice cream.

2:47 Zach resumes eating his bottle. Ryan eats baby vegetable beef dumpling dinner.

2:56 Zach is asleep.

3 p.m. Lexi is awake and playing on the floor with a baby brush and eating a cracker. Amanda's cousin and friend stop by and bring a six week old puppy. Lexi is alternately uninterested and fascinated. Amanda shows her how to pet a dog.

3:40 Ryan is awake. Amanda tries to get him back to sleep, but Lexi is screaming simply because she likes to.

3:41 Amanda calls Granny on her cell phone, "Where are you?"

3:57 Ryan back to sleep.

4 p.m. Lexi sits on the couch by Amanda. Amanda calls Granny again.

4:25 Amanda tries to show Lexi how to color. Lexi would rather chew and drool on the gray marker.

4:30 Abby and Zach are awake.

4:38 Zach yanks Lexi's pacifier out her mouth. She cries. Granny returns.

4:40 Amanda colors in a Winnie the Pooh coloring book.

4:50 Amanda changes Zach's diaper.

4:51 Amanda changes Abby's diaper.

4:52 Amanda changes Lexi's diaper.

5 p.m. Lexi and Abby play on floor. Zach cries. Granny makes bottles.

5:02 Lexi drinks bottle in the swing.

5:03 Zach lays on floor drinking bottle. He then plays and pulls himself up on couch.

5:07 Granny heads for the back bedroom to rest.

5:12 Abby drinks bottle.

5:25 Lexi throws up all over herself and the swing. Amanda changes her clothes and cleans swing.

5:26 Granny is up from her nap.

5:50 Lance Murphy arrives. He's the step grandson of Granny's ex husband. The 4 year old is spending the night. Even though they aren't related, he considers Granny his grandmother.

5:50 Amanda changes Zach's diaper. Amanda announces, "I'm never having kids."

5:51 Abby throws up on the floor.

5:55 Lexi and Abby cry.

5:56 Amanda holds Zach and Lexi. Lexi lays her head on Zach's back, finishing the last of her bottle.

6:05 p.m. Granny makes galosh.

6:10 Amanda puts a sleeping Lexi to bed. She takes Zach and Abby outside and sits in the shade so Lance can play.

6:18 Amanda, Lance, Zach and Abby come back inside.

6:19 Amanda brings a giant stuffed purple lizard out. The babies play on it. Amanda tells Lance that he can take it home.

6:30 Ryan is awake. Zach falls asleep and Amanda puts him to bed.

6:47 Lexi is awake. Zach wakes up. Amanda gets him out of his crib and Granny holds him.

6:40 Amanda eats galosh, feeds bites to Ryan.

7 p.m. Granny feeds Ryan bottle. Amanda holds Lexi. Abby spits up.

7:03 Lexi plays on the floor.

7:12 Ryan and Zach play on the floor, chasing each other. They steal the pacifier from each other.

7:15 Lexi finishes Abby's bottle. Granny holds Abby.

7:23 Zach takes Abby's pacifier out of her mouth. She takes it back.

7:32 Amanda makes bottle for Lexi.

7:29 Amanda takes Lexi to bedroom to get her to sleep.

7:40 Don comes home from work. Goes to see Lexi and Amanda in the bedroom and Lexi wants him to hold her. Lexi squeals. "You have a mouth like your Mama," Don tells Lexi as he picks her up.

7:50 Don eats dinner as he holds Lexi. Zach drinks a bottle.

7:55 Abby cries. Amanda feeds her a bottle. Granny comments, "I always wonder what it's like when you get old and have a nice, quiet, peaceful life."

8 p.m. Ryan finishes Zach's bottle. Don plays with the babies and the heads to the shower.

8:06 Amanda lines all four babies up in the high chair to eat baby oatmeal and vegetable beef dinner. Lexi watches whichever sibling is eating. Abby cries and then makes kissing sounds. Ryan cries and Zach bangs on the table.

8:17 Ryan, Lexi and Zach cry in the high chair. Granny holds Abby. Amanda picks up Ryan to change his clothes and diaper.

8:20 Don gives Lexi and Zach vanilla wafers and they're quiet.

8:25 Zach screams as his diaper is changed and sleeper put on. Don picks up Lexi.

8:28 Amanda changes Lexi's clothes and diaper. Granny holds Ryan, who is running a finger over his mouth making a "bubububu" sound. Abby sits in a baby seat with a pacifier in her mouth almost asleep. "I wish someone would put me to bed and give me a bottle," Granny says.

8:34 Amanda makes bottles.

8:38 Granny feeds Ryan a bottle. Lexi rubs her face on the carpet, fighting sleep. Don picks her up.

8:41 All the babies except Ryan cry.

8:45 Amanda puts a sleeping Zach to bed.

8:47 Granny puts sleeping Ryan to bed.

8:49 Amanda rocks Lexi.

8:55 Amanda puts Lexi to bed.

9 p.m. Amanda brushes her teeth.

9:05 Amanda wants to take Lance to the movies. She goes outside to use cellphone to check for movie times. Don eats ice cream.

9:48 Granny says Amanda can't leave her alone with the babies. Amanda plays Tetrus on the computer.

9:53 Abby wakes up crying. Amanda puts her back to sleep.

10 p.m. All the babies sleep. Amanda plays the computer and watches Three's Company on television. Don heads to bed.

10:10 Granny goes to the store.

11 p.m. Granny comes back.

11:05 Amanda goes to bed.

11:24 Amanda's mother calls from Denver. Granny, who is Susie's mother, talks to her but says Amanda is sleeping.

11:50 Granny sleeps on living room couch. The TV and lights are still on. The Andy Griffith Show and then Sanford and Son play in the background.

Midnight

12:01 The phone rings. It's Granny's son.

12:10 A baby cries.

12:12 The crying stops.

12:18 Amanda stumbles down the hall rubbing her eyes to hold Abby. She gives her to Granny and heads back to bed.

12:21 The phone rings. Granny's grandson wants to come by and pick up mail.

12:24 Abby goes back to sleep after Granny rocks her.

12:50 Granny's grandson comes by with his girlfriend, who is five months pregnant. They leave after about 20 minutes.

1 a.m. Granny tries to go back to sleep on the couch.

1:10 Zach cries. Granny feeds him a bottle.

1:24 Granny puts Zach back to bed.

1:28 Granny channel surfs.

1:42 A neighbor knocks on the door and wants Amanda to take her somewhere. Granny tells the woman no.

2 a.m . Everyone sleeps.

3:08 a.m. Amanda stumbles down the hall with a girl under each arm. She hands Abby to Granny and takes a bottle back to the bedroom with Lexi. Granny feeds Abby a bottle with her eyes closed.

3:16 "Go to sleep," Granny whispers to Lexi, but the baby keeps popping her head up.

3:36 Abby goes back to bed. Lexi is asleep.

4 a.m . Everyone sleeps.

5:08 a.m. A baby cries but stops.

5:32 Ryan cries.

5:48 The cry is more like a whimper

5:52 Granny is awakened by the cry. She picks him up and feeds him a bottle. She tries to get him back to sleep. He's more interested in the ceiling fan. A new day begins.
