SAN FRANCISCO – Texas manager Ron Washington doesn't have a vote in what pitchers make the All-Star team. If he did, he'd certainly have right-hander Kevin Millwood on the squad. Giants 2, Rangers 1 (11) Rangers beaten by Giants on wild pitch in 11th inning Ryan: Lack of key hits is hurting Rangers Spotlight | Box score | Highlights Schedule | Promotions | Team page "Without a doubt," Washington said of Millwood, who will can enhance his chances today when he pitches against San Francisco. Millwood, who made the All-Star team in 1999, certainly has put up All-Star caliber numbers. He's fifth in the American League with a 2.62 ERA and fifth in innings pitched at 99 2/3 . Millwood (7-4) also has a pair of complete games. Players vote on the All-Star pitchers next weekend, and Millwood will have stiff competition. Kansas City's Zack Greinke, Toronto's Roy Halladay, Minnesota's Kevin Slowey and Los Angeles' Jered Weaver are having All-Star seasons too, and only five starters are voted in. Washington said Millwood's success following two seasons of sub-.500 records comes as no surprise. Millwood already has head-to-head wins against Cleveland's Cliff Lee, Seattle's Felix Hernandez and Los Angeles' Joe Saunders. "Now that he is healthy," Washington said, "he's pitching the way people know Millwood is capable of pitching." Saturday's Texas Rangers spotlight: Kevin Millwood
