Breakdown

How Rangers hitters fared

Scott Baker had the Rangers' hitters guessing wrong all night. The Rangers had seven hits, with their lone run coming on a Nelson Cruz homer. The Rangers were 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position and struck out 10 times. Cruz accounted for three of the seven hits and fell a triple short of hitting for the cycle.

How Rangers pitchers fared

Scott Feldman wasn't pleased following his fifth consecutive quality start (at least six innings worked, no more than three earned runs allowed). A two-run second proved to be the difference. The Rangers also used three relievers, with Jason Jennings allowing the final run in his 1 2/3 innings of work.
