AUGUST: (Low) Josh Howard was caught on tape dissing "The Star-Spangled Banner" on tape to conclude a summer of personal turmoil.

OCT 30: (Low) Houston ruined Rick Carlisle's Dallas debut with an opening night win at AAC.

NOV. 14: (Low) Mavs lost their fifth game in a row and dropped to 2-7 as tension mounted throughout the organization.

NOV. 16: (High) Overtime 124-114 win at New York triggered a five-game winning streak to restore the team to .500.

DEC. 13: (Low) Mavs needed 46 points from Dirk Nowitzki go get a four-point win over Oklahoma City, which at the time had the same number of coaches as wins: two.

DEC. 30: (High) Down 70-41 in the third quarter, Mavs outscored Minnesota 66-30 for a big win, the 300th of Carlisle's career. He watched most of it from his office after being ejected.

JAN. 14: (Low) Lost their fourth consecutive game (Phoenix, Sacramento, Denver, New Orleans) and dropped to 22-17.

JAN. 31-FEB. 2: (High) Wins at Miami and Orlando are the high point of a 9-3 run that put Mavs 11 games over .500.

FEB. 27: (Low) Needed overtime and 41 points by Dirk Nowitzki to beat Oklahoma City.

MARCH 3: (Low) A day after a 96-87 loss at Oklahoma City, owner Mark Cuban called out the team: "Not only did it look like we had no idea what we were doing, but we did it without effort."

MARCH 10-11: (High) Back-to-back road wins at Phoenix and Portland to go 15 games above .500.

APRIL 15: (High) By winnin gthe finale vs. Houston coupled with a New Orleans loss, the Mavs vaulted into the No. 6 playoff seed and earned a first-round date vs. the Spurs instead of Denver. How big was that?

APRIL 28: (High) Won Game 5 at San Antonio to close out the Spurs in the playoffs.

MAY 13: (Low) Denver won Game 5 to finish Mavs' season with a 4-1 series win in the Western Conference semifinals.
