Dallas Mavericks' Howard has successful surgeries

Mavericks forward Josh Howard had arthroscopic surgery on his left ankle and left wrist Friday in New York.

Howard will begin rehabilitation this weekend in Dallas.

Coach Rick Carlisle said after the Mavericks' season ended that the arthroscopic procedures were expected to take care of the pain Howard suffered this season.

Howard is expected to be fully recovered before training camp opens Sept. 28.
