UNIVERSITY PARK – Texas A&M seniors Donald Sloan, Derrick Roland and Bryan Davis need 22 more wins to become the winningest class in school history. Tonight, they get a chance to get one game closer at home, when the Aggies play at SMU's Moody Coliseum for the first time since 1996 and the days of the Southwest Conference. All three are from the Dallas area – Sloan and Roland played at Seagoville and Davis at Grand Prairie – and haven't played in Dallas since high school. The Aggies, who are receiving votes in both polls, opened the season with an 88-69 win Friday over Angelo State. Now they face an SMU team trying to turn the corner in coach Matt Doherty's fourth season. Doherty said this season's Mustangs are improved from last year's after Friday's 67-61 season-opening loss to South Florida. But the way SMU lost – hanging around for most of the game, but unable to get over the hump – was reminiscent of a season ago. SMU lost, 66-56, to the Aggies in College Station last season. "Our guys are confident, we'll be ready to play," Doherty said. "They're smaller than last year, but they're faster, so we better get back on defense." Doherty and A&M coach Mark Turgeon are former Kansas assistants under Roy Williams. Texas A&M basketball trio gets to play in Dallas against SMU
