In 1959, Don Meredith signed a contract to play for a proposed NFL team that had no nickname, no coach and no other players. From this seed sprouted the Dallas Cowboys. "I didn't know what 50 years felt like," Meredith chuckles, "but now I do." In that other lifetime he was Dandy Don. He led the Cowboys to the 1966 and 1967 NFL Championship games and later became an icon in the broadcast booth on Monday Night Football.
