Colombo's streak will end with broken fibula
Marc Colombo's consecutive starts streak will end at 57 because of a broken left fibula.
Colombo, who had been bothered by a sprained left ankle, suffered the injury in the first quarter after defensive end Johnny Jolly fell on him. He was replaced by Doug Free.
Owner and general manger Jerry Jones said Colombo's season is over, but Colombo is hoping for a return for a possible playoff run.
"It's big," said offensive guard Leonard Davis, who made his 41st consecutive start with Colombo next to him. "He's a guy that I've been playing with for a long time. Half the battle is communicating, knowing what the guy next to you is going to be doing on certain plays versus certain looks."
Since the start of the 2007 season, the Cowboys are 7-8 when one of their prime offensive linemen – center Andre Gurode, guards Kyle Kosier and Davis, tackles Flozell Adams and Colombo – misses a start.

Shutout avoided on late touchdown catch
The Cowboys avoided a shutout with Tony Romo's touchdown pass to Roy Williams with 38 seconds left. It would have come one day short of six years since their last shutout – a 12-0 loss to New England on Nov. 16, 2003.

Barber a non-factor after first quarter
Cowboys running back Marion Barber started quickly, only to drop from sight.
In the first quarter, Barber had four runs for 27 yards. He had only one more carry for the remainder of the game: a one-yard loss on the first play of the second half.
Barber also caught three passes for 11 yards. Barber's total offense of 37 yards was his lowest since last year's season-ending loss at Philadelphia, when he handled the ball five times for 33 yards. Assistant head coach-offensive coordinator Jason Garrett could not be located to comment on the limited use of Barber.

Ware continues to pile up sacks
After being shut out by Philadelphia last week, DeMarcus Ware had two sacks of Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers, giving him seven on the season.
It was Ware's third multiple-sack game of the season. He had two sacks against Kansas City and Atlanta. He is tied for fourth in franchise history with Ed "Too Tall" Jones with 12 multiple-sack games in his career.

Since opening day 2007, the Cowboys are 8-5 for games in which they are called for 10-plus penalties.

Brooking says offense not the culprit
Linebacker Keith Brooking doesn't blame the struggling offense for the loss.
"Bottom line, their defense outplayed our defense," Brooking said of Green Bay. "We played well at times defensively, but when your offense is struggling and the opposing defense is playing so well like that, you need to create a spark in the game."

Jenkins bruises arm, returns to action
Cowboys cornerback Mike Jenkins injured his left arm in the third quarter, but returned later and said he's fine. He expects to miss no practice time this week.
Jenkins bruised his arm trying to tackle Donald Driver on a 10-yard reception.

Romo, Austin can't connect early
For the second consecutive game, Cowboys wide receiver Miles Austin waited until the fourth quarter to make his first reception. It was not for the lack of chances.
Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo missed on four throws to Austin in the first three quarters. For the Cowboys, the most costly miss came on the first possession.
Austin had cut in front of safety Nick Collins near the Packers' goalline, but Green Bay's pressure forced Romo to throw before he could recognize his receiver's "break-free" move. The throw went incomplete, and the possession ended with Nick Folk's miss on a 38-yard field-goal try.

McBriar accepts blame for missed FG attempt
Holder Mat McBriar took the blame for Nick Folk's missed field goal attempt from 38 yards on the Cowboys' first drive Sunday.
"I didn't give him a chance there," McBriar said.
Folk hooked the attempt to the left, missing a kick for the second time in three games.

Packers limit Witten by using a cornerback
Green Bay's defensive scheme, hatched by veteran coordinator Dom Capers, included liberal use of three and four cornerbacks. That allowed the Packers to often assign a corner, Charles Woodson, to tight end Jason Witten.
Witten had only one catch for three yards in the first three quarters and finished with five receptions for only 47 yards.
"They put Woodson on me, and I couldn't get off him," Witten said.
Witten was also hit with two penalties: an interference call, and a false start.

TE Bennett fails to get untracked
For the first time in four games, the Cowboys did not use tight end Martellus Bennett during the opening possession. The change in plans did not improve his production.
Bennett had only one catch for eight yards.
In the last five games, he has caught only six of the 11 balls throw to him.

Owner Jones laments missed chances
Owner and general manager Jerry Jones complimented Green Bay for winning, but he said the Cowboys let too many opportunities get away.
"Early, we could've had the game and had them playing our game," Jones said. "We let our defense stay out there, and they finally got a little tired in the third quarter."
