It’s a big weekend for the new Long Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Austin.

Crews spent all day getting ready for Friday’s gala featuring Broadway star Tommy Tune and the Austin Symphony Orchestra, Austin Lyric Opera and Ballet Austin.

The hall is equipped with special acoustic panels that can be adjusted for each performance.

A concert Saturday features Lyle Lovett, Willie Nelson and Ray Benson of Asleep at the Wheel.
