Randy Arias, 27, turned himself in and bonded out of the Travis County Jail Monday night on the charge of having an improper relationship with a student. The Spanish teacher and cross-country coach had already been placed on administrative leave by Austin ISD.
According to an affidavit, Arias' relationship the student began in early March 2008. The documents say he asked the teen out to the movies, and then took her back to his apartment where they had sex. They went out on several more Saturdays.
The affidavit states that Arias picked the teen up at her home on April 3, then took her and her mother to purchase a marriage license.
AISD officials did not comment on the allegations.
