An Austin ISD middle school parent was arrested last week on charges of assaulting a school staff member.
APD
Larese Gage
The incident happened Friday before noon at Martin Middle School in East Austin.
According to court documents, Larese Gage, whose daughter attends the school, confronted an 8th grade administrator in the main office. The AISD officer said she was irate and using aggressive hand motions.
The officer asked Gage to calm down, and allowed her to speak to her daughter in another office.
According to the affidavit, Gage continued to verbally assault the officer, and at one point lunged at him. He pushed her against a wall, and Gage's daughter started to punch him from behind. A school staff member walked in, and court documents say gage kicked him.
Gage is charged with assault of a public servant. Bond was set at $5,000.
