Police search for man missing from downtown Austin

Austin police sent out an alert Wednesday in their search for a man who disappeared in downtown Austin.

Police say Johnny Lee Piper, 59, was reported missing Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. He moved to the Austin area two weeks ago, and police say he suffers from dementia and can become disoriented.
Police say he also has not taken his medications for three days.
Piper is described as black, 5'9" tall and weighing 150 pounds with brown eyes, black hair and a gray beard and mustache. He has a tattoo of an eagle or a snake on his right shoulder and is missing front top and front lower teeth.
