Hundreds of high school athletes visited the State Capitol Wednesday morning as guests of Governor Rick Perry.

They were celebrating "State Champion Day."

Each of the students won a UIL state championship last fall, either as an individual or as a member of a team.

Some of the teams honored include the Lake Travis High School football team, the Wimberley volleyball team and the New Braunfels High School tennis team.
