Judge sets bond at $1.6 million for fraud, forgery suspect

A Buda woman arrested on fraud charges now faces additional charges and will have to pay more than $1.6 million in order to bond out of jail.
Amber Dawn Rountree, 37, faces 15 counts of forgery of a financial instrument after her Wednesday arrest in Hays County.
According to the sheriff's office, investigators seized fake ID's, checks, gift and money cards while executing a search warrant, and they added a charge of fraudulent use or possession of Identifying Information.
Justice of the Peace JoAnne Prado set Rountree's bond at $100,000 for each charge, totaling $1,605,000. She remains jailed in Hays County.
