Helicopter makes unplanned landing in Lake Travis

A small helicopter made what officials call an unplanned landing into Lake Travis Saturday afternoon. Its rotor touched the water, disabling the craft.
The for-hire copter had two passengers, who were both extricated with no injuries. According to officials the helicopter was out shooting photos. The closest street to the scene was Water Front Avenue, in the Hudson Bend area.
Austin-Travis County EMS, Lake Travis Fire Response, and Travis County Sheriff’s Office all responded.
