I-35 closure ends sooner than expected
08:26 PM CDT on Saturday, May 10, 2008
After encountering some unexpected difficulties, the Texas Department of Transportation is re-opening I-35 lanes more than a day early.
TxDOT officials had planned to shut down I-35's northbound and southbound lanes at FM 1327 southeast of Austin beginning at 9 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday.
Those plans were cut short when contractors encountered extra problems. The lanes were expected to open again by 10 p.m. Saturday.
