Durham pulls bus contract bid for BISD
11:13 AM CDT on Thursday, June 25, 2009
Durham School Services, the provider of bus and transportation services for the Bastrop Independent School District, has withdrawn its bid for those services and will lay off 133 workers at the end of the month.
The school district will have to award the transportation services contract to another provider, which could rehire many of the laid off workers.
A Durham spokeswoman declined to say why the company pulled its bid.
