Central Texans have options for celebrating the 4th of July

There are a number of public fireworks displays across Central Texas to enjoy this Fourth of July. Here are a few of them:

Austin

One of the state's largest displays is in Austin -- the H-E-B Austin Symphony July 4th Concert & Fireworks.

More than 100,000 people are expected to attend the event, which is held at Auditorium Shores at The Long Center. The Austin Symphony will perform to and fireworks will be shot over Lady Bird Lake.

The music begins at 8:30 p.m. and fireworks start at 9:30 p.m., lasting through 10. The event is free and open to the public.

Alcohol and glass containers are not permitted, but concessions will be sold.

Cedar Park

The festivities begin at 4 p.m. with live music, kid activities, sack races, Bingo and finally a fireworks display at Elizabeth Milburn Park located at 1901 Sun Chase Blvd.

Recommended parking areas are Cedar Park High School, Cedar Park Middle School and Austin Community College – Cypress Creek campus. Recommended viewing areas are at Milburn Park and CPMS.

Georgetown

San Gabriel Park will host a full day of entertainment and fireworks for the 26th Annual Sertoma Club July 4th Family Celebration.

Activities begin at 11 a.m. Saturday July 4 and last until 10 p.m. Admission is free.

Hutto

The City of Hutto Parks & Recreation Department will host a walking parade July 4th at 8:30 a.m.

The July 4th weekend festivities will also include the Slammin Sam! CoRec Softball Tournament which will also be hosted by Hutto Parks & Recreation Department. The tournament, for ages 18 and up, will begin Friday, July 3rd and continue through Saturday, July 4th at the Park Street Field.

Lakeway

The City of Lakeway has its own Independence Day celebration, beginning with a 4th of July parade down Lakeway Drive at 8:30 a.m. Saturday.

Starting at 6 p.m., there's food, live entertainment and fireworks. The events will end at 10 p.m.

Lake Travis

Volente Beach Waterpark, on Lake Travis, will have live music and a fireworks show that starts at dusk. The event is free to guests who purchased park admission prior to 8 p.m. and costs $5 for guests entering the park after 8.

Carlos 'N Charlies restaurant and bar on Lake Travis hosts its annual 4th of July on July 3rd.

Round Rock

Round Rock's Independence Day celebrations are part of the July 4 Frontier Days Celebration. All activities lead up to the annual fireworks celebration.

Independence Day festivities will begin at 7 p.m. with the fireworks display beginning after dark.

San Marcos

The Summerfest Celebration at San Marcos Plaza Park on Saturday will feature a public fireworks display.

Fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, July 4, and city officials say great viewing will be possible at a variety of locations, including San Marcos Plaza Park, the activity center, library, city hall and Strahan parking lot. Residents can also tune into KTSW 89.9 radio to hear the simulcast of music accompanying the fireworks display.
