It's been nearly two years since Roxanne Paltauf vanished from a north Austin motel, and few people are more anxious to find her than the detective handling her case and the teenager's family who waits to hear any word.

"It's just like we can't get out of the sadness.  Everyday is the same and we're just wondering if she's alive and what we haven't done, what more can we do,” said Liz Harris, Roxanne’s mother.

Roxanne Paltauf, 18, was last seen July 7, 2006 at the Budget Inn motel on I-35 and Rundberg.  She was staying there with her boyfriend, the same person who was the last to see her alive.  Paltauf's boyfriend told police the two of them got into an argument and that she simply walked away never to be seen or heard from again.

"I do think that if she was able to contact family, she would.have" said James Scott, the detective handling Paltauf's case for Austin Police.

A billboard featuring Roxanne's picture with the caption "Missing Person" went up a few weeks ago at Highway 183 and north Lamar.  Austin police say they've already received several calls which they're in the process of following up on.

"Somebody out there knows something and the right thing to do is to come forward and let the police department know so we can put this to rest,” said Scott.
