Big crowd expected for July 4th on Auditorium Shores
12:08 PM CDT on Friday, July 3, 2009
For thousands of Central Texans, a highlight of July Fourth is the annual fireworks and symphony concert held every year on Auditorioum Shores.
This is the 33rd annual concert hosted by HEB and the Austin Symphony Orchestra. It's one of the largest fireworks displays in Texas.
Live canons from the Texas National Guard Salute Battery will punctuate the music and pyrotechnics.
The event takes place Saturday night, with the symphony performing at 8:30. The fireworks follow at about 9:30.
While specific event shuttles will not be provided, many Capital Metro bus routes serve Auditorium Shores. Click here for a map of those routes.
If you are driving, you are encouraged to park north of Lady Bird Lake and avoid the traffic around Lamar, Barton Springs and Riverside Drive. Click here for more parking tips.
