APD: Credit card thief burglarizes victim's car

A man has been stealing credit cards out of cars and using the cards to make thousands of dollars in purchases, Austin police said Thursday.

Austin police released this surveillance photo of the suspect.
Police say the man walked into an open garage on July 23 and took cash and cards out of the victim's purse. Later that same day, he used the cards at several department stores.
Investigators say the man may be linked to several similar burglaries in the Avery Ranch area and Williamson County.
He's described as a white or Hispanic, clean cut man with a neatly trimmed goatee and wearing a white baseball cap with sunglasses resting on the brim of the hat. He weighs 170 to 180 pounds and stands 6' 0" tall.
