The Austin Police Department says a man involved in a car crash last Saturday died on Monday.

The crash occured around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday at the intersection of Northcrest Boulevard and West Anderson Lane. Austin-Travis County EMS went to the scene and transported the driver and passenger of a Chevrolet Malibu to Brackenridge Hospital. The passenger, Leroy Hernandez, 82, later died as a result of his injuries.

Police say the driver of the Malibu heading south-bound on Northcrest Boulevard ran the red light at the intersection of West Anderson Lane. A Dodge Durango heading east-bound on West Anderson collided with the Maibu at the intersection.

Police said the people involved in the crash on Saturday appeared only to have minor injuries that were non-life threatening.
