APD releases sketch in homeowner's attempted assault
06:23 PM CDT on Tuesday, October 14, 2008
Austin police Tuesday released a composite sketch of the man who may have tried to sexually assault a woman in her home last Saturday.
An open house was scheduled Sunday for the home in the 2000 block of Alta Vista Avenue.
The man came to the door and asked if he could still look around. The owner let him in, but turned her back on him for part of the tour. That's when he took out a gun and demanded money.
The woman described her attacker as 6'0" tall, about 180 pounds, with an athletic build and clean cut. He's believed to be in his 40's, with brown hair and eyes.
The attacker had tied the homeowner's hands together and gagged her. She was able to escape after a struggle with the intruder.
He is now facing a charge of aggravated robbery.
