Could Will Muschamp be leaving the Longhorns for Auburn?
A television station in Mobile, Alabama reports that the current Longhorn defensive coordinator -- and heir-apparent to Head Coach Mack Brown -- will be named the head coach of Auburn as early as Friday.
Muschamp was defensive coordinator at Auburn before coming to UT this year.
University of Texas athletics officials tell KVUE Sports that Muschamp is not leaving UT.
Muschamp also released a statement Friday:
"I have not interviewed for any jobs. I'm not interested in any jobs. I'm happy here, my family loves Austin and I'm going to be at Texas."
Last month, Muschamp was named as the coach to replace Brown when he steps down at some point in the future.
