Former LBJ teacher indicted on sexual assault charges

A former Austin ISD employee has been indicted on 11 counts by a Travis County grand jury in connection with a sexual assault of a student, according to court documents.
Michael Mason, 30, was a teacher at LBJ High School when police say the incident happened in September 2004.
He faces charges of sexual assault of a child, indecency with a child by contact, indecency with a child by exposure and improper relationship between an educator and a student.
Mason attended LBJ High School in the mid-90's. He went on to play football at Mary Hardin Baylor.
According to AISD, Mason stopped teaching in March and is no longer employed by the district.
A phone call to Mason's residence Wednesday evening was not immediately returned.
