Toby and his rescuers.
Toby, a tabby, disappeared Friday while the family was loading boxes from their Bellaire home for a move to Pensacola, Florida.
The family searched the streets to no avail. Since duty called, they were forced to leave without their pet.
But thanks to alert KHOU.com readers, Toby was found stuck in the family’s chimney. He’d been there for four days.
Nine Bellaire firefighters and two trucks swooped in to save the feline.
The family, thrilled at the discovery, was looking for a way to fly their furry friend to Florida Monday night.
