Front brings weekend rain chances
01:14 AM CDT on Saturday, March 29, 2008
HOUSTON -- The rain may not stay away for all of the city's big events this weekend.
If you're heading to the NCAA Tournament, the Astros exhibition games or the Bayou City Art Festival this weekend, you'll probably need an umbrella.
With rising humidity levels comes a greater chance for storms and showers. Even by Friday evening, the chance for rain is 30 percent.
A frontal system comes in from the north Saturday.
"About seven or eight o'clock through the afternoon, look for those storms to gradually develop to the north," 11 News meteorologist Mario Gomez said.
The high Saturday is expected to be 78 with a 40 percent chance of rain.
Rain chances drop to 20 percent for Sunday, and the high will be in the 80s.
