SUGAR LAND, Texas -- A Sugar Land couple’s sad story got a happy ending Monday night when their stolen dog was unexpectedly returned to them.
Melissa Matsu and Phil Leedell’s poodle, Leeloo, was taken – along with jewelry, computers, a camera and credit cards – from their home on Cobblestone Point Drive in February.

Leeloo is described as "energetic and friendly to everyone."
But late Monday night, a man came to the couple’s door with Leeloo in tow.
The man said he’d purchased the dog at the LongPoint Flea Market. He said his wife had seen the story about Leeloo on KHOU.com, felt bad and made him husband return her to her rightful home.
The family said Leeloo seemed healthy and uninjured.
They checked the dog with a microchip scanner to confirm her identity Tuesday and left her with a vet for a checkup.
While Matsu says they still don’t know who took Leeloo, they’re thrilled to have her back.
