03:34 PM CDT on Wednesday, May 7, 2008
HOUSTON -- An apparent road rage incident in northwest Houston sent a man to the hospital after his truck was shot at several times. The shooting occurred along FM 1960 about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
A man, his wife and their baby were traveling west on Farm to Market Road 1960 in their Dodge Durango when a gold-colored pickup cut them off. In response, the man driving the Durango honked his horn at the other driver.
When both vehicles reached an intersection light about a mile from Willowbrook Mall, the men exchanged words. That’s when the driver of the gold pickup pulled a gun and fired several shots at the three people in the Durango.
The driver of the Durango was struck at least two times and had to be taken Ben Taub Hospital. The woman and baby in the truck were unharmed.
The gunman, believed to be driving a gold-colored Ford Ranger, took off after the shooting.
