HPD seeks 'brazen' jewelry store robbers
06:37 PM CDT on Wednesday, May 7, 2008
HOUSTON -- Police are looking for a group of armed jewelry store robbers.
The crooks pretended to be customers at the Eagle Jewelry Store in the 5900 block of Westheimer on Monday, but then they whipped out guns and held the place up.
Police called the three suspects bold, brazen and dangerous.
The incident occurred in broad daylight, around 11 a.m.
Two of the robbers, posing as customers, asked the manager for help finding a battery for a Rolex watch.
But as the manager turned her attention to another customer, the robbers rushed behind the counter, guns drawn.
One of the suspects forced the manager and the customer to lie down on the floor and handcuffed them together.
“You can’t talk, you can’t move. You’re just paralyzed. Just fear. Just plain fear that they’re going to … kill you right there,” Henrietta Floyd said.
The suspects made off with cash and jewelry items from the store.
Police said they’re worried the suspects will strike again.
If you have any information, call police.
