Man gunned down outside southwest Houston convenience store

HOUSTON -- A man was killled in a hail of gunfire outside of a southwest Houston convenience Tuesday night.
The incident happened around 7 p.m. at the Super Gas Stop at South Gessner at Gustine. Witnesses say they heard the 31-year-old and a woman arguing before the shooting.
Police said approximately 11 rounds were fired, and according to witnesses, it was the woman who pulled the trigger.
Investigators said Hawkins crawled under a parked truck and died.
"The suspect ran southbound on Gessner," Officer Thaddeus Pol said. He said the suspect is a heavyset female who appeared to be dressed like a male. The suspect is approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall and was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.
