HOUSTON -- There was a big victory on Wednesday for Houston neighborhoods battling to keep big trucks from parking on their streets.
The Houston city council approved a truck ban in overwhleming vote. The revised ordinance prevents big trucks 22 feet or longer from parking in neighborhoods.
The ban would include most multi-wheel trucks including some large wreckers and would ban them from parking on neighborhood streets.
The previous ban restricted trucks 30 feet or longer.
There are some exemptions for vehicles like moving vans, delivery trucks and construction equipment.
